The suburb has many older styled brick veneered and weatherboard homes. There have been a number of new subdivisions and renovations in recent years. It is likely we will see more new dwellings such as townhouses and units in the foreseeable future.

Croydon Community School is a co-educational secondary school (high school), teaching students from years seven through to twelve. In has recently had a massive renovation/upgrade with an impressive masterplan.

Croydon Primary School is a small pubic facility with approximately 180 students. The school teaches children from grades prep foundation through to grade six.

Dorset Primary School

Dorset Primary School s a co-educational facility that teaches children from grades prep foundation through to grade six. The school currently has a student enrolment of over 480 children.
