Top things to do in Ballarat
Ballarat is an old regional town 110kms from the Melbourne CBD. Once a country town that experienced a world renowned gold rush in the 1800s, Ballarat saw their population increase to approx. 50,000. In recent decades, many farms have been sold to build more housing estates, which will see Ballarat’s population to increase to 144,000 by 2030, boasting the second largest population in Victoria. The areas has grown significantly over the last 100 years, with many great schools, shops, business and tourist attractions.

Soverign Hill
Probably the most recognisable place in Ballarat. Where Australian history comes to life. A unique open-air museum really takes you back into the gold rush error where the township took the global stage for large findings of gold. Many tourists, families and schools come to spend the day/weekend here.
Botanical Gardens
Botanical Gardens Reserve is located on the western shore of Lake Wendouree. The landscape covers an area of 40 hectares which is divided into three distinct zones. If you are looking to picnic, take a stroll/walk or spend some time with loved one, this place will sweep you off your feet. The gardens are beautifully curated all year round and showcase so many different plants, flowers and trees.
