As Melbourne welcomes the season of Spring, its also time to check our homes for any maintenance. As we have been spending more time at home during winter the home may need a ‘spring clean’.
Here are some tips to making sure your family and home are ready for a warm and sunny Spring.
Have you check your alarms?
It’s recommended to check your alarms regularly. Test that they work and also replace the batteries. It is a quick but important check that is ideal to have looked at as Spring is here.
Clean your gutters
During winter trees still continue to shed leafs. Winter can be windy leaving debris around our home and specifically in our gutters. Before the weather starts to warm up again, make sure your gutters are clear. Don’t underestimate Spring can still see rainfall. The cleaner your gutters, the safer your home in the long run.
Clean your walls and ceilings inside the home
After a cold winter, we have had extra warm showers to heat our bodies before bed. During winter, you we see less ventilation within the home. This causes condensation which creates mould and mildew. It is a good time to clean the bathrooms and other wet areas with extra care. Getting rid of any mould and mildew will not only have the home look nicer, it will also protect our health. It is not good for us to breath this in.
Replace Filters
Replace any filters. Clean the range hood and air vents within your home. Having your ducted heating or split system service will also ensure you remove any dust built over over the last few months.
Prune your plants
Spring brings so much life outdoors. The plants, trees and flowers star to bloom and show off their amazing shapes and colours. To get the most out of your outdoor environment, take the time to prune your plants and soil your garden. If you love growing fresh produce, do some research and find out what grows best during Spring. Vegetables such as capsicum, carrots, cucumbers and tomatoes grow well this time of year.
At Crest Property Investments, we wish you a joyous and safe Spring ahead. Take care and bye for now!
