Top things to do in Altona
Altona is an established suburb located 13 kms from the Melbourne CBD (city). The suburb is situated within the City of Hobsons Bay. Here is a list of things to do, but in no particular order:
Altona Beach
Altona Beach has attracted many locals and tourists and regarded one the most popular beaches in the western suburbs of Melbourne. It holds a number of different sporting activities including paddle boarding and volleyball. If you aren’t into sports or sunbaking, you their is a great shared bike and walking trail which connects to the Hobsons Bay Coastal Trail. The Altona Pier is also quite amazing. It’s actually 500 metres long. You’ll see people fishing and sight seeing all year round.
Altona Beach Market
A long serving and active market that is open every Tuesdays between 9am and 3pm. It is a big open space, but it can be a very busy place with people all over Melbourne coming to take a look. The market is held in Logan Reserve and along Pier Street. It features fresh food stalls and local arts and crafts.

Kooringal Golf Club is known for its difficulty. Both the front nine and back gets progressively harder. Designed by the highly reputable Craig Parry, the golf course looks sensational all year round. What makes this place special, its also walking distance from the beach! It has a very popular restaurant within the club house and has an indoor gold simulator!
