Top things to do in Wantirna

Wantirna is a family orientated suburb in metropolitan Melbourne. Filled with many amenities, its well suited to families of all ages.

Here is a list of things to do, but in no particular order:

Timezone

Who doesn’t love computer games? This arcade has so many great games for all ages, including racing, virtual reality and basketball. The venue is open quite late most nights and gives out an exciting vibe on weekends.

Knox O’Zone

Likely to be the most loved place in Wantirna South. Knox O’Zone features many great restaurant cuisines including Mexican, Thai, Middle Eastern, Chinese, burgers and sushi trains. The night life is very active with an ice-cream bar, Village Cinemas and a few bars open late. It’s not unheard of to see long lines waiting to enter their favourite restaurant, so booking a table can be very helpful.

Sporting Globe

The Sporting Globe can be located inside the Knox O’Zone. It displays many sporting events all around the world. They offer great meals and feature an open bar. Upstairs, the venue has a roof top terrace which is buzzing at night. Friday and Saturday nights are very popular among the locals. If you enjoy partying, then this might be worth a look.

Westfield Knox

Westfield Knox was initially built in 1977. It has seen some great renovations and/or improvements and now has nearly 90 stores to choose from. Westfield is currently undergoing a $355 million redevelopment with new introductions coming to Knox, including Woolworths, ALDI a new Knox Library, elevated retail offerings spanning from fashion to beauty, youth and homewares and a range of new uses.

Knox Hockey Club

A family orientated club that is a not-for-profit, volunteer run organisation. The club has many successful teams from senior men’s, women’s and master’s teams. They also have a well known junior program. Knox Hockey Club offers a great atmosphere for hockey players of all ages and abilities.

Good Life Health Club

For all those fitness enthusiasts, the Good Life Health Club has everything to keep you in shape. You had functional training zones, cardio equipment, group classes, strength equipment, steam rooms and even squash courts. They have flexible opening hours and open 7 days a week.

Wantirna Trash & Treasure

Wantirna Trash & Treasure is located on Mountain Highway. It is a public event operated every Sunday (weather permitting). You’ll find lots of great items including, crafts, antiques, produce, toys and much more. There is a small cash entry, but you can spend hours roaming and exploring lots of brand new and second hand items.

Koomba Park

A huge public open space that brings joy to so many families all year round. Koomba Park has some beautiful walking track, including the Dandenong Creek Trail and the East Link Trail. It also has a very popular outdoor playground called ‘Wantirna Reserve Playground’.

Koomba Park consists 92 hectares of which 33 are public accessible.

The Coffee Club

If you love a hot breakfast and a freshly brewed coffee, this is the place for you! A super sized cafe that’s a double storey, there are so many tables on offer. All-day breakfast and cafe lunches, plus signature coffee blends, it’s a great place to catch up with family and friends.
