Essendon is the most established northern suburb in metropolitan Melbourne with a large dense population. There are many things to do, both day and night.

DFO Essendon

Montgomery Park
Residences in Essendon have indulged with large selections of natural reserves. The local council has recently upgraded facilities in Montgomery Park. Besides its signature long slide, it has large opening spaces for picnics, sport and activities. The playgrounds are great, with a pirate theme sand pit and various equipment to play. The basketball court, BBQ facilities and a rope maze are also very popular among locals. Children are guaranteed to have a great time here.
5 Mile Creek Reserve
If you are looking to wind down from the intense office lifestyle this is the place for you. Look to submerge yourself into mother nature at 5 Mile Creek Reserve. The surrounding walking track covers a total distance of 3.4 kms. You can walk along the creek or among unique native vegetation, with many places to bird watch too.

Essendon Traffic School
An incredibly designed traffic school for young kids. This mini road set up features road signs, railway bells and traffic lights perfectly suited for children aged between 2 to 10 years old. It provides children with a safe environment to socialise, gain confidence, practice their bicycle riding skills and learn about road rules.
Windy Hill Fitness Centre
Windy Hill Fitness Centre is the premier gymnasium and indoor swimming pool in Essendon.

Craft Market opens on the last Saturday each month, it provides a large collection of handmade crafts, jewellery, accessories, and plants crafted by the locals. This is a really great way to meet locals within the community and is a fun place to slowdown after a long hard week.
