Reasons people use home security cameras. Most people buy and install home security cameras to protect themselves and potentially detract burglars or thieves from invading their home. Most would already be well aware that this is the primary reason to have them. However you’d be surprised to learn what other odd reasons people also look to have them.
According to an RACV survey there are almost two-thirds of people choose to install home security cameras to safe guard themselves and their belongings. Interestingly, one in six people admitted their main reason was to watch over their family pet while no one was home.
Reasons people use home security cameras
- Spying on pets – According to the RACV’s online security camera survey the most common reason other than for security was to spy on their pets. There was one in six respondents. It really goes to show how important a furry friend life championship is. They have very much become part of our families.
- Watching the neighbours – The second most common reason was to watch over the neighbours. Many feel their neighbours may dump rubbish late out night, onto their bin.
- Keeping an eye out for deliveries – Online shopping has become a staple in many households. With the wake of the global financial crises, this trend will only continue.
- Spying on you family members – As your kids enter adolescence and young adult, parents want to know what their kids are up to and if they got home as promised!
