Will the Delta-strain destroy the property market? The answer is NO according to the latest ANZ Bank research.
Life in Australia is far from the norm, with covid-19 and the new delta-strain continuing to trouble our lives. In spite of this, the property market nationally has witnessed some strong price rises. According to recent studies conducted by ANZ Bank, the property market is likely to continue increasing. There have been many contributors to the positive increases in the property market. Record low interest rates, high savings buffers, low cost of living with lockdowns and ongoing fiscal support from the government.
Since March the ANZ Bank has been forecasting house price gains of between 15-20% across the capital cities, but our property markets have performed more strongly than they expected. The bank is currently forecasting over 20% gains in average capital city housing prices for 2021. Moving into 2022, the ANZ Bank anticipates average price gains of 7%. All locations will differ as these are averages, but the news for property owners couldn’t come at a better time.
