Having your home smell great, makes a home more inviting and welcoming. Keeping it smelling nice can be challenging if you have children, lower ventilation, pets etc. Here we outline some ways to make your home smell great.
Candles look and make your home smell great
Candles are really effective. The light shimmering can also be quite majestic. Many candles can offer a short term aromatic smell. They are a quick fix if you have friends or family coming over. Having them in a living area or open floor plan will allow their scent to permeate.
Wax melts are nice
Wax melts can be made up of wax and essential oils. They can have a similar smell to candles. They can also be quite nice as an ornament. They do get hot, so make sure they are placed in a safe area.

Essential oil diffusers can last for some time. They are safer to use compared to candles, wax melts and incense. There are many different types of sizes, shapes and colours to choose from. You also have a wide range of smells to select from.
Indoor plants offer a fresh frangrance
Not only doe plants offer a calming and natural look within your home, indoor plants cal make your home smell great. They purify the air, while some may flower during certain times of the year. You can buy smaller plants to replace as ornaments or larger ones that compliment your furniture set up.
Open the Windows
Having more ventilation in your home will help clean the air inside the home. If yo have some nice trees or plants outside, you’ll get their scents from the breeze hat runs through your home. It can be a quick way to clear the smell from cooking. During winter, it is harder to appreciate the fresh air in your home, but having them open when the sun is out will cleanse your home.
Coffee bean aroma is so inviting
How good is it to open the door of a home that has finished brewing a fresh coffee. If non-coffee drinkers love the smell of coffee. You can leave coffee beans open or used as pebbles around a small indoor plant. The coffee beans will fragrant the room.

Most people don’t clean their fridge often enough. If you have split dairy product such as milk or yoghurt, the fridge will create a stench everytime you open it. Keeping the shelves clean will reduce any smell coming from your fridge.

Bathrooms are most notorious for leaving bad odors. Mold and mildew are also quite bad for you too. Bathrooms create moisture and often lack ventilation. Try remember using your fan, even if it makes the bathroom feel colder. Cleaning and removing mold and mildew will help make your home smell great.
Wash and replace hand and tea-towels
These towels get lots of dirt and germs. Wiping dishes, benches and hands will leave wet towels around. Replacing them with fresh towels and regularly washing them will avoid that pungent wet smell.
Shoes
Many of us have more than one pair of shoes. Work shoes, runners, dance shoes etc. Most don’t want to leave them outside to get damaged or stolen. Perhaps storing them in shoe boxes or closed shoe stands will help. They can leave lots of nasty and sweaty smells. You can wash some of them, but high heels you can’t.
