Top things to do in Camberwell

Camberwell is a beautifully designed suburb. An affluent location with a great family community. Located 9kms from the Melbourne CBD, its a suburb that is well connected.

Here is a list of things to do, but in no particular order:

Camberwell Place

Camberwell Place is a boutique shopping centre located on Burke Road, in the heart of Camberwell. The centre is anchored by Coles, JB Hi-Fi and 30 specialty stores.

Camberwell Market

From records to rings, buttons to boots, as long as it’s second hand, antique or vintage, it’s sold at the Camberwell Sunday Market. There are some great food trucks and activities for families to enjoy.

Willison Park

Willison Park is a beautiful open space with a playground for children. It also has a tennis club and lawn bowls adjacent to the park.

Riverside Park

A fun-filled adventure playground and plenty of open space make this park popular with visitors and as a place for events. The park is next to a Tennis Club and has covered barbecues nearby. In December each year, look out for the free and popular Summertime Cinema screening in the park.

Lynden Park

Lynden Park is another popular outdoor setting with great open spaces, playground and other facilities. It is particularly popular on weekend where you’ll see friends and families spend hours at the park.

Camberwell Library

The Library opened in 1961 in the old town hall building. Built in 1891 as a civic building, the old town hall underwent major alterations to become a library. You can borrow lots of different things from magazines, DVD etc. They hold some great events for kids including book clubs.

Restaurants

The suburb is blessed with some great restaurants. You’ll find family bistros to a more romantic setting. Places include: Con Noi Italian Trattoria, Prohibition Food & Wine, Fiorelli Restaurant and Infuse Camberwell

Cafes

There are many great cafes to choose from. You can get out and grab some eggs on toast, a freshly brewed coffee or catch a delishes lunch any day of the week. Places such as Dish & Spoon, The Bakers Wife and Legacy Camberwell are really nice.

Camberwell Leisure Centre

Although built in 1892, the Camberwell Leisure Centre features some of the most modern equipment to keep fit and healthy. The venue includes two swimming pools that play host to award-winning swimming lessons, while the state-of-the-art gym is the perfect place to get fit, lose weight and tone up.

Frog Hollow Reserve

The suburb has many wonderful walking tracks and outdoor reserves. Frog Hollow Reserve will not let you down. A great place to hire up to 50 people, you can celebrate good times in style!
