If the outdoor view from inside looks plain or borrowing, investing into some plants can add a calming and relaxing feel.
Not all properties have great natural light. This is particularly the case in older homes. There are other ways to improve lighting. There are many great lighting fixtures that offer a variety of shades and colours. These can also provide the same effect if installed subtly.

This will make a room look bigger. Also be mindful not to block any natural lights with high cupboards, fridges or anything that will fall in front of a window. Some furniture offers some storage, so you should use that wisely to avoid any clutter.
