Top things to do in Richmond

Richmond is a highly active inner city suburb. An exciting hub filled with many young professional appreciating the connectivity to city while taking advantage of the many amenities this suburb has available.

Here is a list of things to do, but in no particular order:

Bridge Road

If you’re in the mood to “shop till you drop”, this outdoor shopping strip is for you. A famous street that has offered some of the best retail outlets in Melbourne. In recent years, the strip has welcomed many cafes including Reunion & Co and Touchwood to name a few. At night, there are many great bars and pubs to also choose from.

Melbourne Cricket Ground

A world class stadium that has seen some of the most historic sporting events Australia has ever seen. With a capacity to hold up to 100,000 people, it’s been home of Australian rules football for over 100 years. It also has the National Sports Museum with many tourist taking daily tours. It’s also served as a music venue to some of the greatest musicians all around the world.

The night life

You won’t get bored in Richmond. The thriving night life is what gives the suburb its identity. You have an abundance of bars, restaurants and night clubs. Places such as Bar 9T4, The Blacksmith Bar and Public House to name a few.

Barkly Gardens

A perfect spot for family picnics, dog walking and exercise. Featuring a playground, bbq, Anzac Memorial and pavilion, there is room for many outdoor activities. Officially opening in 1867, Barkly Gardens is Richmond’s only 19th century residential garden square.

Richmond Social

Precinct Hotel

Spanning a colourful history in previous incarnations as The Greyhound established in 1852, rebuilt as The Depot in 1926, and then renovated in 2008 as The Precinct Hotel, this iconic building continues an ever-growing legacy delivering another amazing transformation in 2016 with huge courtyard, big band stage, intimate restaurant and open area bar all equipped with the biggest and best screens.
