The butler pantry… who doesn’t love a walk-in cupboard!
There are some traditional home treats that we don’t see anymore. Features like transom windows, vestibules, and sleeping porches, to name a few. One traditional home feature that has very much come into demand is a butler pantry. This is happening in both brand-new properties and remodels or renovations.
Traditionally, a butler’s pantry was a narrow room adjacent to the main kitchen used to store delicate prestigious kitchenware that was often locked up. The name ‘butler pantry’ was initially derived from Europe. It was known that a butler often slept in the pantry to guard these valuable items.
In today’s times, the traditional butler pantry has made a mighty comeback, but design and intention greatly differ. Its counter-top surfaces make it an appropriate preparing area for serving meals. People love that it provides a place to plate meals or even rest dishes between courses. Many butler pantries also feature additional cooking appliances making it into a second fully functional kitchen. Many are also using it to wash and dry dishes so that the kitchen doesn’t gather clutter in the home.
It’s incredible how the modern butler pantry can store so much excess items, including food, produce and even kitchen appliances such as kettle, coffee machine and toaster to name a few.
It’s internal cabinets and shelves can become dedicated storage area for your bottles of wine and beverages. Giving it a home bar feel.
Believe it or not, this is a larger influence on buyer’s appetites that you realise. It really is an all-purposeful room that can offer so much to a home.
